What is your favorite pizza? What pizza would you like to try? Many cultures have their own ways of making food. Just like Italian pizza is different from American pizza. Well, here are two pizzas from two different cultures.
Dough and sides
One important part of a pizza holds the pizza together and also keeps the stuff on top is.. You probably guessed it, yes it is the dough. If you are wanting to make Italian pizza then you are going to need to get flour, yeast, salt, and water. Some tips on making your pizza are: refrigerate the dough for 2-3 day, let the dough rise for 45 minutes, and cook the pizza on a pizza stone because it conducts more heat than the oven can. For your classic American dough you’re going to need flour, yest, kosher salt, and olive oil. Leave the dough in a warm place so it can rise for 30 minutes.
Toppings, herbs and harvesting
If you are wanting a Napoletana pizza then you need raw tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and olive oil. If you want a Capricciosa pizza then you could need tomato puree, mozzarella, cremini mushrooms, artichoke hearts, black olives, and prosciutto cotto (Italian cooked ham). Last but not least, a classic American pizza just needs marinara, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. Sometimes people just like plain cheese with marinara.
The difference between the two pizzas
One of the biggest difference between the two pizzas is the sauce. Italy doesn’t have a classic tomato sauce like American sauce. Italy sauce has olive oil, pureed fresh tomatoes, garlic, and oregano. The sauce can make a big difference. It can give you a big bomb of flavor or just a subtle taste.
What was your opinion on these three pizzas? Do you know of any other cultural pizza? What are you picking? You could go ask your parents to take you out for pizza. Lots of people enjoy pizza.
