Usually, when a show is rebooted, the newer show is terrible. This is not the case of the show, The Office. The original was made in the United Kingdom, then The Office remade was made in the United States. The U.S version was way more successful with nine seasons compared to the U.K version, that only had two.

When you watch the United Kingdom version of The Office, the humor is often very dry and forced. Dry humor is when you make a joke without your expression changing, so people don’t know you’re joking. Along with that, the acting is very forced. The colors around their office and the workers clothing is very bland. In the U.S version, people are yelling, running and jumping around with the jokes being amusing and the acting natural. Every episode is filled with lots of color and the workers always wear bright clothes.

Even though on the U.S version of The Office the cast is mostly Caucasians, there are lots of characters of different races. Kelly, who does paper distribution is Indian. Oscar, who does accounting, is Mexican. Derryl, who works in the warehouse then upgrades to foreman, is African American. And that’s just the main diverse workers in the office. Each of them have an important role in the story. In the U.K version, everyone is Caucasian. Even though it only had two seasons the U.S version still had diverse characters on season one.

On the Office in the U.S, there a lot of holiday episodes and even three wedding episodes! On the U.K version, you only see around their offices and very little other places. There are two Christmas episodes for the finale, but other than that there are no holiday episodes and are only really restricted to their office.  Nothing big really happens that can make you feel emotions. This is because you can’t really connect to the characters because you only see them at work.

You have the right to like whatever you enjoy, but for me personally, that is not The Office U.K. I need to be able to somewhat relate or enjoy the characters and the U.K version, does not provide this. I think The Office US version, is a lot better for many reasons but mainly I think the US version has more heart. Both series are on Netflix if you want to decide for yourself.
