On Wednesday, October the 14th Seaman Middle School and Emporia Middle School came to play a big, hard, competitive last football game of the season. Only one team could win. Was that Seaman or Emporia?
A rough battle has started, a huge war. Two teams one winner. Both fight with everything they have. Seaman and Emporia. It starts at roughly 4:45, both teams were there to take a win. EMS fought hard and Seaman fought the same way. By the 2nd half, it was 6-0 Seaman winning. The EMS coach was certain we could still win. Everyone else knew we had a fighting chance.
By the end of the second half Seaman had a kid get taken out for 2 unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and a mom of an EMS player, when asked about it said “ By the second half Seaman was taking it away and I’m sad about the number of penalties Seaman had. It was a close hard game though.”
The EMS team and families all went to hopefully see us destroy Seaman and win our final game of the year and our second win. Everyone knew it was ours. “I thought it was a close hard game but sadly Seaman won,” said an EMS player when asked about how he thought the game went. “We came to win but Seaman took that away from us.”
It was a sad outcome for the EMS team but they still tried their best. The score was roughly 20-6 and they got hit hard for their final game. When asked if they would watch the same game again, the mom and player both said that they would because it was still a fun game to watch.
It was a tough year for the EMS players, they only had one win and it was the easiest of all the teams. They started out good but after their second game, they just lost hope. Their overall season was 1-5 and they all said that they could have done better especially in the Seaman game that they should have one. That was a sad way for the EMS team to end the season. Although their record was 1-5 they did better than they should have because they had seventh and eighth grade not only eighth like all the other teams.
