What are some things you look for in a good business? Prices? Staff? What they sell? All of these features will be talked about for the business L&L Pets, Emporia’s local pet store located at 621 Commercial St. They have very good products and animals as well as knowledgeable staff. I will be providing a more detailed review below of this local business, and maybe you might stop in!

One of the first things you notice in a business are the employees. Usually, you notice if they are outstanding or terrible. In this case, the employees of L&L Pets are amazing! All of the staff are friendly and greet you as you enter the door. They are also very knowledgeable about all of the different animals they sell. I personally had a great experience. My fish tank was not thriving at the moment, and a certain staff member worked with me kindly and patiently (once for an hour!) until the tank was up and running again. All of the other staff will also help you with any other questions you might have, and they will also assist you in choosing the right animal for you and your family.

Another thing you look for in a pet store is obviously the pets! L&L Pets has many different animals. Some of which include, rabbits, mice, hamsters, birds, lizards, gerbils, snakes, turtles, fish, and sometimes kittens! These are just some of the many different animals (and soon to be pets!) that the store has. Disclaimer: if you are going here just to adopt a kitten, I would make sure that you call ahead at 620-343-3398 because they only have kittens when someone in the community sells them to the store so they aren’t always in “stock”. They have many different reptiles such as snakes, lizards, turtles, and frogs! L&L Pets also has a very large selection of fish, which is very noticeable when you walk in the door. All of the bright colors make them very attractive and fun! There are also a lot of rodents in the store (for sale, not wild ones!). Options include; rabbits, chinchillas, gerbils, robo hamsters, hamsters, mice, and rats. There are also many types of small cage birds, which are bright and colorful. If you decide to get a pet, you will also need the proper supplies which L&L Pets will have! They have food for every animal sold. Also, they have treats for dogs which are very popular! In the store you will also find toys for both cats and dogs as well as beds and other necessities for these animals. As far as fish (and a few crabs) go, they have many different tank sizes and all the chemicals and other supplies needed. They also have food for the fish, flakes and other kinds too! If you want to decorate your tank then you have come to the right store! They have many beautiful decorations and a large variety of gravel for you to put at the bottom of your tank. For reptiles, they have lamps and all that is needed for the reptile to thrive. For rodents they have cages with fun attachments and stuffing for the bottom, and most definitely food!

Prices. Something very important for a successful business. L&L Pets prices are fairly good for being a small local store. Their prices on fish, and on all of the other animals are really good! The supplies tend to be marked fair as well. If you live in Emporia with a fish tank, you can bring in your flake container when it’s empty and they will refill it for cheaper than buying a whole new container! This is just one of the price perks of small businesses! When you look at the prices on certain items you might be thinking, “WOW! That’s expensive!”, but you haven’t looked at other pet stores to see their prices which likely are higher. In general, their prices are decent and good for anyone with a low budget for their pets.
