Indianapolis Lottery

I had a lot of fun on the fun trip I took in 3rd grade to Indianapolis for Camaro Fest, and I ended up winning some cash! I spent all of it the same day though, whoops! On the trip we had some fun too. Listening to music and having intense debates whether Minecraft or Assasin’s Creed was better, or something like that. So that is a shorter version of the story, so let’s jump in!

The Long Haul

The ride mostly consisted of sleep because we left at around 5 o’clock p.m. and I could not stay awake. After all of the activities that I had done earlier that day, I was so tired that I fell asleep.I enjoyed debating and playing road trip playlists on Spotify with my family We stopped for a snack at a gas station I got a honey bun and some Sprite. While eating my dad explained what the Camaro Fest is and what is involved in the activities.

We Arrive

As we entered the fairground I said “Finally… “we are here” in sarcastic voice as my dad registered us into the Camaro Fest event-goers and got our event bracelets. As we were wandering around and checking everything out we saw a sign pointing to the drag strip, so off we strolled to the strip to see a race or two. When we got to the drag racing area there were Camaro’s as powerful as 1,500 horsepower, whoa! The first race was one of John Lingenfelter’s Camaro ZL-1 modded drag cars against a 1982 Z-28 Camaro. The suspense was unbearable but, in the end the ZL-1 won!

The Lottery

After we left the drag races we saw another sign saying “Vendor’s Lottery, Winner gets $200”. For a while I begged and begged to enter. At first my dad said no because I really had no chance, but after awhile I annoyed him into it. Vendor after Vendor. each giving us a little trinket to keep we eventually got enough vendors to sign my card plus extra to put it into the drawing box! My dad and I went and looked at the cars at the carshow part and got a few autographs from racers! The someone said over the speaker, “Time for awards please gather at the given award area”. Then everybody who participated or just wanted to watch gathered in the awards area. They started calling out names and handing winners checks and shaking hands. I asked my dad “Are we gonna do the lottery or not?” he answered every time I asked he said, “Be patient Ethan” with a big grin across his face. Eventually, the emcee said “Time for the part we have all been looking forward to the lottery winner is….” I could NOT hold myself together with the suspense “Ethan Rhudy wins the $200 dollar prize”! I ran up to the stage with my dad with a giant grin on my face…. I had won!

After the Event

We went to a store and sadly I blew all $200 just on DS games and water balloons whoops! After we finished our shopping spree we found the nearest hotel and set up some TV. About an hour later we hit the hay. Overall I loved the trip and I saw cool cars, got some cash and, most of all spent time with family!
