Have you ever seen something so funny that you had to repost it or send it to your friends? If so, it was most likely a meme of some kind. A meme is really just a funny post that has been reposted/shared 100s of times. Sometimes they’re just movie clips that have funny captions or videogame gameplay with funny narration; either way, it could be a meme.

First off, we need to know where they come from. It’s not like they just “appear”. There are memes that are pictures with captions that can be really funny. There are “gif” memes that are pretty much the same as picture memes but the picture is moving. Finally, there are video memes. They can be videos with captions (very original). They can also be just funny or have interesting commentary on what’s happening.

I know I keep saying that they’re funny, but what makes them funny? The first thing is the sound effects. There are some that can be very out of pocket (out of the ordinary) which makes it funny to me. The second thing is the pictures. It could be photoshopped or it could be a perfectly timed picture. Last but not least there is what happens in the videos. I find it the funniest when people do non-smart stuff. An example could be jumping from a trampoline into a pool and missing the pool.

I’ve been talking about all these memes but I haven’t talked about the “important” memes. The first one is, “Oh no, my table, it’s broken!!!”, in this meme is a kid who’s making a brick structure on a glass table and the table shatters. The second one, “I like turtles” was made in Portland, Oregon, the news reporter decided to ask him what he thinks about his zombie face paint and he replied, “I like turtles”.
Finally, there is a very special song called “Never Gonna Give You Up” which is my personal favorite. If someone plays it to you and you were thinking you were watching something else, it would mean you got Rick Rolled.
