Did you know music first started being recorded in the early years around 1877? The first song ever found was “Au clair de la lune’. Scientists discovered snippets of an intelligible voice singing the French folk song made in the 1860s.”. On the topic of music let’s talk about genres that I personally enjoy!
To start off with my favorite music genres I will start with Hip Hop. One popular Hip Hop artist is Drake with his most popular song “One Dance-Drake (feat. Wizkid & Kyla)” I think his best song is “Nice for what” because of the beats and I think it has a nice vibe to it! Nicki is also a great artist with her #1 song “Beez in the Trap”. I don’t really have much to say about her other than her music is great! and the last Hip Hop artist you should check out is Kanye West! His #1 song is “Black Skinhead”. He’s an overall great artist that has been around for a little while but all of them are definitely worth listening to!
Another great genre you should check out is R&B which includes great artists like Brent Faiyaz, Beyonce, and the Weeknd! My favorite artist out of all of them is definitely The Weeknd! His top hit right now is “Blinding Lights” but my favorite song of his is “Party Monster”. Beyonce is probably the most popular out of the 3 of them. She’s actually on tour right now! According to Vanity Fair, It’s called “Renaissance World Tour”’ and it’s going on from May 10th to October 1st! I don’t really have much to say about Brent Faiyaz other than he also does great music. He wouldn’t be my top artist at all but I would listen to him if I had to.
And, lastly, my favorite type of music is definitely any Mexican music; but my top 3 genres are Banda, Corridos Tumbados, and Durangese. Actually, duranguense isn’t my favorite. I just wanted to include it because it comes from where my dad is from, which is Durango. But on the topic of duranguense, it’s a mix of Technobanda and Tamboraz. According to the AREA Chicago Archive. It became popular during the “early 2000s” and it’s sometimes still played at parties. It’s not really like a huapango where it’s like a partner type of dance, but I think the dance to duranguense is still nice. I’m the only one out of my family who likes corridos tumbados. I don’t really know why my parents and sister don’t really like it even though I think it’s the best type of music. My favorite artists are Natanael Cano, Eslabon Armado, Peso Pluma, Junior H, and Fuerza Regida. I think Eslabon is still the best out of them though. And, lastly, with Banda, both me and my parents enjoy it a lot. Especially Banda el Recodo, Banda los Recoditos, Banda MS, and Los Elegantes de Jerez I really can’t pick between which bands I like most because I like them all a lot but I would recommend “Mi Ultimo Deseo” by Banda los Recoditos.
Everyone has their own taste in music and I won’t judge but you should really check out all the artists and genres I have talked about! Out of everything my favorite genre is Corridos Tumbados. An artist I think you should really check out is Eslabon Armado Natanael Cano, Or Junior H, A song you should really check out by one of them is “Ella” by Junior H, And Natanael Cano.
