Have you ever been to a Wichita Thunder hockey game? If not I suggest you should see one. Wichita Thunder plays at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, KS. Hockey games are full of fun and adventure.

The Intrust Bank Arena is enormous! The arena holds multiple events every year like Monster Jam, Winter Jam (a concert every year where popular Christian groups/singers perform) and other big events. The Intrust bank arena has multiple food places like Papa Johns, The Pizza Joint, The Burger Lab, and other food and beverage places. According to the arena’s website, the arena has 15,750 seats!

The Wichita Thunder games are full of adventure you would not want to miss. One time I was watching a game and the team, Wichita Thunder bumped into one of the opposing players so hard he hit the wall and shattered the glass! If one of the teams scored, a siren on that side would go off signaling that it was a goal. Hockey games are very loud and you get a really good view if you are up high.

During half-time at a Wichita Thunder game, they would come and set up about five buckets on the ice. You can buy a puck and during half-time, you threw the puck hoping it would land in the bucket. If you got it in the bucket, you would get a prize. Also, they would have an event where you shouted as loud as you can and the winning section got free pizza from Papa Johns.

According to worldstadiums.com, “The Intrust Bank Arena is the second biggest arena in Kansas”, (worldstadiums.com). This means that the Intrust Bank Arena is pretty large. Sometimes they would throw out free shirts to the audience and if you catch one you get to keep it. They have also done a lot of other fun events in between each quarter. A Zamboni comes out and drives over the ice in between quarters and during halftime. According zamboni.com, “a Zamboni is a machine that is used to clean or resurface the ice” (zamboni.com).

I just want to say that I really loved watching Wichita Thunder games. Maybe hockey seems boring on TV, but when you go to a hockey game in person, it is a completely different experience. I didn’t really like sports that much either, but that was from TV. The experience you get from TV is a lot different from the experience you get in person. When you are watching hockey from a TV you don’t get the experience or the thrill of actually being at the game and seeing it in person.
