Have you ever watched or played soccer? Well, you’re in luck, because in my story, I’m going to tell you some basics like rules, gear, and shooting. If you want to break a record, Cristiano Ronaldo has the most goals in soccer history with 857 goals. Other than that get ready for some soccer basics.
The first thing I’m going to talk about is shooting. The first kind of shooting I’m going to talk about is shooting in open field, which is when you shoot it when you’re running with it and shoot it at the goal. The second kind of shooting I’m going to talk about is free kicks, which is when someone gets fouled outside of the goalie box. You can score off of free kicks if it’s close enough. There are 2 kinds of free kicks. There are indirect and direct free kicks. Indirect free kicks are when you can’t shoot it; you have to pass it. Direct free kicks are when you can shoot it or pass it if you want. The last thing about shooting is penalties, penalties are when you get fouled inside of the goalie box and there is a spot in the middle of the goalie box where you shoot it from.
The second thing I’m going to talk about is the rules of soccer. The first rule I’m going to talk about is hands. Hands can only be called if your hand isn’t in a natural position. If your hands are just away from your body and the ball hits your hand the other team will get a free kick. The second rule I want to talk about is illegal slide tackling. Illegal slide tackling is when you don’t touch the ball and just take out the opponent’s feet. The third rule I want to tell you is offsides. Offside is when you’re past the last person on the defense. You also can’t be offside in your own half.
The last thing I want to talk about is gear. The first piece of gear you need is soccer cleats. They are the shoes you need to wear to play soccer. The next piece of gear you need is shin guards for protection of the shins. The third thing you need, if you’re a goalie, is goalie gloves so you can grab the ball better and your hands are bigger to save the balls.
Now you know some of the basic stuff about soccer; like how to shoot in open field, penalties, and free kicks. You also know some things you need to bring like cleats, shin guards, and goalie gloves, and some rules like hands, offsides, and illegal slide tackling.
