Have you ever lost any of your family members or loved ones? Although, if you haven’t you will be reading a story of someone who has their perspective. While in this story I lost my grandma and you are going to be hearing all the details about what happened. Well, at least what happened to her.
I remember when I woke up everything was normal. I got up, put my clothes on and brushed my teeth. I was waiting for my mom and sister to get ready so we could get to school. When my mom and sister finally got ready, me and my sister got to school. At this time I was in about 2nd grade and I had never had any of my family members die yet, so I didn’t really know how to act or what to say. Then I got called down to the office and I had no idea why.
When I finally got to the office my mom was there so my first thought was I got in trouble. But then the office lady told me that my mom was here to pick me up. I was really happy until we got in the car. My mom turned off the radio and I looked over to her and I saw tears coming down her face. I asked her what was wrong and she sniffled up her tears and told me that my grandma was dead. I didn’t know what to do, I really loved my grandma. We used to visit her in the nursing home every Sunday. I started crying and my sister was also crying, My mom was trying to comfort me. At this time I was in about 2nd grade so I have never had any of my family members die yet so I didn’t really know how to act or what to say.
When we got to the nursing home to get all her stuff out, we saw all of her nursing home friends. They all looked sad. All I wanted to do was leave. I didn’t want to be in there one bit. It was so sad. But I pushed through it and got her room all cleaned and got home. A few days later I was at my dad’s house and my mom called me and asked if I wanted to go to my grandma’s funeral. I said no but I wish I said yes so I could have seen her again but I didn’t.
Now I’m in 7th grade and I still remember everything about that day. I miss my grandma very much and I would do anything in the world to see her again alive and healthy. It was fun making this and brought back a bunch of old memories. The lesson I learned from this is you should always spend time with your family because you don’t know how much longer they have.
