Has there ever been a song that makes you wonder how it got popular in the first place? Well, I have, and I’ll be telling you about the worst song to ever be made, “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I. My first reason is that Toni Watson, AKA Tones and I, hates the song. My second reason is when she’s singing, she sounds like a chimpanzee. My third reason is that the message is repetitive, and has almost no meaning by the end of the song. Now let’s look at the data.
The first piece of data I gathered was from an IHeart Radio article in March 2022 about Dance Monkey that reveals Toni Watson’s opinion on the song. She said, “I loathe that song a lot of the time. A lot of times I don’t want to sing it.” This proves my point that this song is so bad that even the person who made it doesn’t like it. It also shows how repetitive and flat-out annoying this song can be.
The second piece of data I gathered was on a famous radio station in Pennsylvania called B101, which had a list of the 1,000 best songs ever. Out of all 1,000, new and old songs, Dance Monkey was not on the list. Therefore, this means there are over 1,000 songs that the public could agree are better than Dance Monkey.
The third piece of data I got was from a music critic site called rateyourmusic.com where the song has a rating of 0.98/5 and various comments like, “This is probably the worst song ever. Genuinely unlistenable. Dreadful.”, or “Her voice is like sandpaper scratching through the ears until there is nothing left.” This proves how even professional music critics hate this song. The pathetic 0.98/5 rating puts it below some other dreadful songs like “Friday” by Rebecca Black (1.77/5).
So, those were my thoughts on Dance Monkey by Tones and I. This song is the worst song to ever come into the music industry because it has no meaning, the creator hates the song, and her voice is terribly annoying. I hope this story will make you NOT want to listen to this song. If you hear this song on the radio, I encourage you to unsubscribe from the radio station and possibly file a complaint to the headquarters of the radio station.
