Have you ever wanted a smoothie, but you don’t know where to get it? Well, I reviewed two very good shops that sell smoothies, Gravel City Roasters and Scooter’s coffee. Both of these places have sensational smoothies that I get all the time, but I wanted to know which one has the best smoothies. Today I will be reviewing a strawberry smoothie from both shops in taste, texture, and price.
Taste
First on our list, is the taste of our lovely smoothies. Gravel City is up first for judgment. Seeing as it’s a strawberry smoothie it is very ripe and fruity, but it also has a very pungent, slightly tart and tangy flavor to it. The Gravel City smoothie also has yogurt in it which adds the tangy flavor that I was picking up on in the drink. The smoothie from Scooter’s has a very similar taste with the drink being fruity with yogurt and or milk in the drink, but the strawberry in this drink has a more artificial flavor to it. Because of the artificial flavor to this smoothie it has a much sweeter taste overall. I personally prefer sweeter-tasting foods and drinks so the Scooter’s smoothie will win this round.
Texture
Now for the next trial, Texture. The texture of a Gravel City Roasters smoothie is a thin, smooth, creamy drink. It also has small bits of seed from the strawberry in the drink that add a bit of crunch to the drink. Although I like the seed bits, they’re not for everyone because the seed will sometimes get stuck in your teeth and can be uncomfortable. On the contrary, the Scooters smoothie is fairly thick and hard to drink with a straw. Scooters is also a smooth, cold, creamy drink with small chunks but this time it’s small pieces of ice instead. On this aspect, the Gravel City’s smoothie will win for its easy drinkability and thin texture.
Price
The final point that I’m reviewing over, is the price of the smoothies. Before we get to the price we must see what all the drink comes with. Each drink comes with a plastic cup and straw, and the smoothie. Scooter’s coffee offers a small, medium, and large smoothie while Gravel City offers only one size which is medium. Now the prices, Gravel City Roasters medium is $6.00 and A Scooter’s small, which is what I got, is $5.50. For this round Gravel City wins for their cheaper price.
Overall, I believe that Gravel City Roasters has the better strawberry smoothie, because of its better texture, and a reasonable price. Even though I preferred the Scooters flavor, Gravel City still has an exquisite-tasting smoothie and it has great service as a benefit. This locally owned business has won our competition and proven itself as having the best smoothies in town.
