Have you ever been in class and you wanted to get on your phone but you couldn’t? Phones should be allowed in school. Phones can help kids feel safe in school, they can also help kids feel connected with each other, also, They can help you with assignments in class.  Also this story I will be talking about why phones aren’t allowed in school. In my school phones aren’t allowed, they used to be but not anymore.

Phones can help keep kids safe in school. According to https://scienceandliteracy.org cell phones should be in school because, “In the context of safety and the unpredictable nature of emergencies, the presence of cell phones with students becomes of paramount importance. This means that “With students having connection to their parents at any time and digital communication with their peers during breaks, they are people under the watch of their trusted individuals”.

Phones can help kids feel connected with each other. According to https://www.bark.us/blog/phones-allowed-in-school, “Cell phones enable students to connect and collaborate with their peers and teachers more efficiently.” This means that, time spent at lunch and in between classes used to be a valuable time to connect with others and have face-to-face interactions.

Phones can help you on assignments in class. According to https://scienceandliteracy.org/, “With access to the internet and educational apps, cell phones can provide students with a wealth of information at their fingertips.” This means that every phone has a bunch of tools like a clock, calculator, and a timer. This means that the students can be more social with the other students.

Phones should be allowed in school because it could help students feel safe, help kids feel connected with each other, and also help with assignments in class. Talk to your principal if you would like to use your phone in school. Although it could be a distraction in class, all of my statements have found the reason to have phones in school.
