Have you ever thought of a toy car that can go 70 mph, maybe having high-end electronics, or multiple features that help the car? Well, maybe you have or haven’t. Either way, I’m still going to talk about the Traxxas Rustler 2WD VXL because I think this car needs more appreciation for its 29 years of pure power and fun.
Performance
The rustler is a tiny beast. What I mean by that is that it is very durable, it can go anywhere, and very fast. According to Traxxas.com, this toy car can reach 70+ mph! This car also excels at hitting jumps and crashing without breaking. Another thing this car excels at is its terrain ability. This thing can go on grass, concrete, snow, dirt, sometimes water, mud, gravel, ice, carpet, a tree if you want or can, and many more. In all, this thing can do almost anything.
Hardware
The Rustler’s hardware is the best that Traxxas can offer. According to Traxxas “The Velineon brushless motor and electronic speed control (ESC) delivers the ultimate in efficiency, speed, and run time. With the Rustler VXL, your battery selection determines your speed and skill level. Velineon accepts a wide range of batteries, including powerful 3-cell LiPo packs.” The Rustler is also very customizable. Some of the upgrades I put on my rustler were
an Rpm front bumper, Rpm front arms, Rpm rear bearing casters, Traxxas wheelie bar, front aluminum steering blocks, aluminum caster blocks, aluminum shock caps, anaconda tires front, anaconda tires rear, rear a-arms, heavy-duty drive shafts, and a front hinge pin brace.
Features
The rustler features many things. According to Traxxas.com one of the features is its high-end remote the TQI 2.4 GHZ remote which provides fast response to the receiver and easy use for beginners. The second feature I really like was the Atlas tires it includes on the car. They are very questionable tires because they are really easy to handle but they wear out super fast. The third thing I really liked about the car were the extremely strong parts it comes with. One thing that you might think is, “Aren’t metal parts stronger than plastic?” though that might be true in some cases, yes but, in most cases plastic parts are stronger because they can bend back. They also are a lot cheaper compared to metal. Now obviously it has plenty more but those are three of my favorite ones.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Rustler 2wd VXL is a great RC car due to the fact that it can go 70Mph, has high-end hardware, and has multiple features. If you want to get into this hobby, you can go to Traxxas.com. Or, if you want to see videos about RC cars, you can watch Kevin Talbot on YouTube. If you are a beginner, they have the brushed version called the Rustler 2wd Xl-5 which is a slower version of this one with weaker parts. I think this car is amazing! It’s crazy how It has evolved so much in the past 29 years. If you are looking for a RC, car I would recommend getting this one!
