Have you ever been to a bowling alley and thought “hmm this is pretty nice!” or maybe even “Wow this sucks.” Well, I’m here to show my list of the 5 bowling alleys I have been to from worst to best. Why they got that position, how the experience was, how clean the place was, how comfortable it was, and how nice the tech is. One more thing; if you have a different opinion, well good for you I guess.
- Main Event @Olathe
Main Event was the worst one I’ve been to because it was bland. There wasn’t anything special for the most part. It was a normal arcade with a bowling alley. There was no room, and for the cherry on top, we were next to a group of young adults who did not care about their surroundings. Another reason why this got last was because this place was gross! There were stain spots everywhere! Although it was nasty and crowded, it was pretty comfortable. The seats were cushioned and were nice. Another nice thing was the technology that they had because it was top-of-the-line technology and was user-friendly. Overall, I rate this place a 3/10.
- Olathe Lanes East
Olathe Lanes East was not a terrible place at all, it was actually really nice! It only got this position because of the home advantage the next one has. This bowling alley was great! The workers were kind and we had plenty of room to bowl. The place was also very clean and there were no problems with stains. It was also very comfortable. The spinney chairs were very spinney and the seats didn’t hurt when you sat in them. The technology was standard. It was no Main Event tech but it works for bowling so it works. Overall, I rate this place a 7/10.
- Flint Hills Lanes @Emporia
Flint Hills Lanes is my local bowling alley so I know a good amount of stuff about this place. This place is great. They have great workers and are very kind! My experiences range from amazing to meh “the meh is when i’m not doing good or anything” but besides that the experiences are great! This place is also very clean. It didn’t have any stains and the dirtiest spot would be the Pro Shop. But that’s where they drill bowling balls so it gets a pass. One problem they have is the comfort-ability. While they have the spinney chairs they don’t have any cushioned seats. But, being a bowler and not a spectator, I don’t really care too much. For the technology it’s like Olathe lanes it’s good for bowling but for fun games it’s not very good. Overall, I rate this place a 8/10.
- Northrock Lanes @Witchta
Northrock Lanes was a great place but I was there for a tournament so I didn’t get to bowl. But the tournament was awesome! The place was great and was in pristine condition because it got new owners and was closed for a while. Northrock was also a very clean place; there were no stains and if there was a spill the workers would clean it up immediately. This place was pretty comfortable for being crowded. The tech was really new as well and was as nice as Main Event’s tech! Overall, I rate this place a 9/10.
- Park Lanes @Shawnee
Park Lanes was amazing! Unlike Main Event they had two areas with the main area being a standard bowling alley and an area for parties which are also perfect for games with friends. The place also wasn’t as clean as Northrock, but it was still very clean. In the party zone, there were cushioned couches and a table but, out in the main area it was the same as numbers four to two there were spinney chairs and a table. In the main area the tech was new but still not amazing but, in the party room the tech was out of this world! It was nicer than Main Event’s tech! Even the lanes would light up and track the ball! Also, the machines were basically brand new so they were nice. Overall, I rate this place a 10/10.
All of these bowling alleys, except for Main Event, are great places to go bowling. But if I were to choose which to have as my home alley, it would be Park Lanes because it’s just an overall great place to go bowling. An honorable mention would be Round One in Wichita and I would rate it a 6/10. If you want to find more information about these places you can go to mainevent.com, Olathe Lanes East, flinthillslanes.com, Northrock Lanes, and parklaneskc.com. I hope you can go check these places out sometime. And remember to thank the workers at your local bowling alley when you’re there!
