Everyone has heard of pets – Whether you have one, or you don’t. The usual pets are cats, dogs, fish, birds, and a few others. Although these animals seem very simple, they are more overlooked than you might think. Cats are one of the animals that are overlooked. There are so many reasons cats are overlooked, but it depends on the cat’s breed. Here are some of my favorite cat breeds, as well as, in my opinion, some of the cutest cats.
In number 5, we have the Munchkin cat. These felines are mainly indoor cats, and have a medium-maintenance-need, having to be groomed once a week. These cats work much better with experienced owners, aren’t ideal for family homes, and need calm environments. Munchkin cats are very sociable and dependent cats, as well as playful and curious.
Number 4 is the Ragamuffin cat. This is a generally healthy cat breed and a great starter cat for families. These cats a even-tempered and get along with most people. Changes in the environment do not typically upset them. Though, despite their friendliness and their compatibility with families, these are fairly high-maintenance cats, needing to be groomed daily.
For number 3, we have the Bengal. Bengals are lean and elegant cats, who are independent yet friendly. Although it has an appealing frame and personality, these cats are much more comfortable with experienced owners, need extensive outdoor areas, and are not the most ideal for family homes. These felines need a high level of entertainment and enrichment, including things such as hunting games, interactive playtime, etc.
For our 2nd cat breed, we have the Norwegian Forest Cat. The Norwegian Forest Cat is known for its strong personality. These cats are intelligent, affectionate, and playful. Despite how friendly these cats may be, be aware of their boundaries, as Norwegian Forest cats don’t typically appreciate cuddling or being picked up. Overall, the Norweigan Forest cat has a strong personality, though, despite that, their boundaries are something to be respected.
Finally, in number 1, we have the Maine Coon. The Maine Coon is mainly known for its large build, assisting it in surviving in cold environments. These cats are also known as the “gentle giants”, as they have a very affectionate nature and are overall very friendly. Overall, Maine Coon’s are very gentle, kind, and intelligent felines.
Overall, each breed has its special traits. Munchkins are very sociable and dependent, Ragamuffins are great starter cats for families, Bengals are very interactive and energetic, Norwegian Forest cats have a very intelligent personality, and Maine Coons have a very large build yet are very friendly. Although these cats are amazing, other cat breeds are quite special, as well. If you’re thinking about adopting a cat, the best thing you can do to prepare is to research the breed. These are my top-5 cat breeds, and are as well, in my opinion, some of the cutest. If you would like to find your own feline friend, visit petfinder.com or visit your local animal shelter.
