Do you have a favorite restaurant you love going to and wish you could always eat there? Well, I definitely do! I want to share a place I really enjoy going with my family. El Torito, It’s located North of Topeka at 3000 NW Topeka Blvd, Topeka, KS kind of in some random place, but you’ll get there if you use maps.
Here is what it is. It’s like a Mexican store and restaurant in one! We go a few times a year, it’s in Topeka, KS like a little further out, and the people there are usually really friendly. We’ve been going for a few years and I still always see the same people there. They sell basically what a regular Mexican store would sell. We usually go for the meat though. They also sell tres leche cakes and those are so good; they are like in the top 5 cakes for me.
This is what I order when I go! They give out tortilla chips and salsa when you get there. They give a red spicy salsa and that’s basically the only one they give out. My parents get other types of salsas at some little stand in the corner. That’s usually by the time I get full. I don’t know why but the tortilla chips are so good but they usually have to bring out another container full of them before the food is even out. I don’t have anything I order in particular. I’m also not the one to order much so I usually get a kid’s burger and I’ll eat part of my parent’s food because they said they rather I eat from theirs then order something I won’t even finish. They both usually get the same thing which is most of the time refried beans, rice, carne, and some type of hotdogs. Whatever I don’t finish I ask my sister if she wants it. If not, then I’ll ask my parents last.
Here’s what I like about it. The servers are really friendly and pay attention whenever you need help. We go on Mondays most of the time because that’s when I have my appointments and there’s almost never anyone there; maybe a few people like some adults. They also play music that I really enjoy for some reason. Most of the time I don’t even know the songs- but still.
In conclusion, El Torito is 100% worth going to with your family. The servers are really friendly, they give out good food, and it’s a nice Store/Restaurant in general!
