Have you ever found it difficult to build your LEGO MOCs? If you have, then this story is for you. In this article, I will tell you 3 easy steps to improve the quality of your LEGO builds and also help you remember your build.
The first step is to come up with what you will make. After you have an idea, sketch it on paper. Draw out the dimensions, structures, special features, or even pieces you might need. Writing it down is important if you are not building it right away. Because one time I had an idea and I didn’t write it down and forgot it.
Next, you should think about what pieces you might need for your build. Look through your pieces to see if you have them. If not, you should order those bricks. If it is not a decoration brick or Minifigure, I would recommend buying more than you think you need. To buy good bricks and/ or minifigures go to Bricklink.
Finally, it is time to start building. Start by putting down your base. Then map out on the plate where everything is so you know if you can fit everything you want on it. When starting to build the different parts of your MOC, I would suggest building up a 2-3 block outline on the edge of the baseplates to add stability to make transportation easier. Remember to try and keep the same amount of detailing throughout the whole MOC.
To sum this all up when building mocs draw your ideas, order parts if necessary, and enjoy your build. One thing I also like to do is to take pictures of the MOC through the different stages of construction, so that after I take it apart I can still look back on it. So, after reading this, I hope you have learned how to make the process of building a Lego moc easier. If you want to look at some of other people’s MOCs, go to Bricklink MOCs.
