From April 1-12th, EMS is having a Read-A-Thon. The Read-A-Thon is a fundraiser for trips, classroom resources, and many other activities. Along with this, the fundraiser will be used to support Spartan Stop, which serves PreK-12 students within USD 253 by providing materials for those in financial need (ie. a child’s father just got laid off and there hasn’t been food in the house for a while, so Spartan Stop would provide the child with food). To raise money, simply collect cash and check donations and bring them to your Advisory teacher. Rewards for donations include the following:
- $25 raised- Earns an invite to get out of class and go to the EMS DJ Kirby Dance party
- $80 raised- Pizza party before the dance
- $200 raised- VIP Pass to play video games in the Video Game Bus during class
And as an addition… - Every $25 raised earns you a raffle ticket that will be added to a jar where 40 names will be picked to spend a day at Main Event.
- All advisory classes that raise at least $1000 in donations will earn a 5lb chocolate bar party.
- The top money raiser in each grade level will earn time in a giant cash machine.
It is recommended that you only collect money from neighbors, family, or people you know in general, but you can do whatever you wish.
So, good luck and get reading!
