Baseball season started up. I play for the Emporia Reds. So far we have had 6 baseball practices. We practice at Sodens Grove every Sunday and Wednesday. We always start practice by playing catch to get our arms loose so we can throw the baseball farther. Then we would do a drill called “infield/outfield” so we could work on our throwing and also our ability to field. After we did infield outfield, we would either do another drill called 21 outs or we would do a lot of hitting. Our team can hit the ball really well. Some of us can even hit the fence at Sodens which is 300 feet! There are definitely a lot of things our team needs to work on. The main thing that we need to get better at is pitching. We have been struggling to pitch recently. Even so, I’m looking forward to the start of the season.
