On April 2nd the EMS track team had a track meet at Washburn Rural and I went. I wanted to share what I experienced so you the reader know what it was like. Okay, so to start off when the Washburn team walked onto the field it was crazy, there were over 300 of them! For reference, there are only around 150 people on our team. When they ran their warm-up lap they basically circled me in. Not long after that, the high-jump started which was my first event. Shawnee Heights had 1 high jumper, we had 4, and Washburn had around 20. Half of the Washburn kids got out on the first height which was 3’8”. When I finished the high-jump I went and did the shotput which I had to do when the 8th graders were doing it because the 7th graders finished the shotput when I was doing high-jump. After I finished shot put I walked over to discus and threw 71 feet which was a pr for me. After I was done with my 3 events, I just messed around with friends on their football field watching the runners.
