Everyone has had a personal record (PR) in golf, video games, etc. But, there is no better feeling than getting a PR in bowling because it is really difficult to get. In this story, I will talk about when I got a personal best in bowling.
The Morning
It was an average morning on the weekend, waking up and eating breakfast; the usual. At around 11:30 AM, during my lunch, my brother asked me if I wanted to go bowling with him and some of his friends. I easily said yes and he told me we would leave at 1:00 PM. So, for the whole morning, I was super anxious to go bowling.
Afternoon
It was around 12:40 PM when I and my brother “Hayden” left our house to go to the bowling alley. While I was excited to go, Hayden goes there almost every day so he was not as excited as I was. We arrived at around 12:50 PM and none of the friends were there! So me and Hayden just hung out in the parking lot. When the other friends “Caydrick and Colton” arrived it was 1:10 PM. They were ten minutes late! But it didn’t matter because they’re normally late for most things.
Bowling Alley
After we went inside, paid, and got 2 lanes, we started bowling. When I was getting ready to bowl, I watched Caydrick, who bowled for the high school bowling team, bowl! So, when he was up to bowl he was pretty good, but I wasn’t going to let him beat me. So I went up, got ready, and threw the ball. Strike! The next turn, strike then the next strike, strike, strike, strike, strike. On the 7th frame, I only got 9 pins down but picked up the one pin I left. In the 8th frame, I only hit 5 pins but also picked up the 5 I missed, next I hit seven and knocked down the 3 pins I missed, finally the last shot of the game I threw the ball and… I hit 5 pins. But that gave me a score of 247 which made me very excited.
In conclusion, I think bowling is one of the best sports to get a PR in because you will remember that day in detail until you get a new PR in bowling. I don’t think this could’ve happened without the bowling team, so if you know anyone on the bowling team, give them a high five the next time you see them. The secret to a PR is to practice and stay focused. Good luck with getting your own personal record.
