We all know the eclipse that happened on the 8th, but not all of us got to see totality. My family had decided that they wanted us to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This actually was our second time seeing totality. We also got to see the 2017 eclipse in totality as well. For the 2024 eclipse, my family went down to a small town in Texas full of tiny homes. We stayed only a few houses away from my dad’s friend and we spent the eclipse with them and a few others in the neighborhood. We went down there on a Saturday and we left that Monday after the eclipse. The eclipse was really cool, literally, it got like 8 degrees colder. Totality only lasted about 4 minutes, but during that time it got quite dark. The only sun that could be seen was a small ring around the moon. As soon as totality was over though, you could tell because it got a lot brighter instantly and all of the shadows went back to becoming crescents. I really enjoyed seeing the totality of the eclipse and in twenty years when there is another eclipse I recommend seeing totality because it truly is an unmatched experience. There is nothing like seeing totality.
