The Pokemon franchise has had a lot of starter Pokemon. But the thing is, some are a lot better than others. Also, think about your favorite water-type starter Pokemon before you read the rest of this.
Totodile is one of the best starter Pokemon because of his evolutions and design. His design, a little goofy crocodile, is very on point. His final evolution Feraligator has pretty good design too. It is a giant blue crocodile dinosaur thing. Totodiles looks reminds me of a raptor. For a starter, Totodile’s stats will not be the best. But it has a base stat total of 314, and its stats are also very well balanced.
Some people might say he’s overrated, but next on my list is Froakie. Frokie’s design is like a little scared frog that doesn’t know what to do. Many people only like him for his final evolution, Greninja. Greninja is a dark water-type Pokemon. It has a vigilante ninja design. Greninja’s tongue became a belt of some sort around his head and neck. Froakies stats lean toward him being a Pokemon made to outspeed other Pokemon.
Mudkip is a little salamander. His final evolution has one of the best mega-evolutions. Swampert is a giant salamander/axolotl thing. His typing is water ground. Sadly, because of that, he is 4x weak to grass attacks. Mudkip has a very cool form that is very rare: a shiny female The reason for this is because shinys have a 1 in 8192 chance and you only have a 12.5 percent chance for a female. Mudkip has a base stat total of 310, although his stats are very balanced.
Squirtle, a tiny blue turtle, is an original starter Pokemon. His final evolution, Blastiose is a giant turtle with two tank cannons on its back. Squirtle has a very simple design. Squirtle has good stats more leaning to defense ( makes sense he is a turtle). Squirtle’s stats are made for a well-balanced tanky Pokemon.
What is your main idea: In all, this is my opinion. Yours might be different. But just because your favorite water starter wasn’t on this list, does not make it a bad Pokemon.
