Introduction
Have you ever wanted to see what happens inside of Meets? If you could, would you take the chance to see one? Meets are some of the funnest things you can do. From hanging out with friends to eating homemade foods, here are some of the other things you can do at a cross-country meet.
The Bus Ride
When going to a meet, you ride a bus there. You can be on your phone or electronics when riding on the bus. You can also just hang out with your friends and talk about basically anything that happens. The most my friends and I did on the bus was sing bus songs and play Minecraft or play on phones.
At The Meet
When at the meet, you need to make sure to listen to the coach because you can easily get lost within the course just from not listening (trust me, it’s not fun). Usually, before the meet even starts, (the best bit) we do some exercises and stretches to get our legs ready for the run. The worst bit is when you have a side stitch (a pain in your side when you don’t have enough water.) Now, to talk about after the meet.
After The Meet
After the race, you eat lunch and sometimes they bring special stuff like cake or sandwiches w/ chips. If you’re lucky enough, you get the chance to go to a restaurant (but you have to pay). When waiting in line for the best food you’ll have in your life, you could play a simple game of rock, paper, scissors, a game classic. Hanging out in a restaurant with friends is a life-changing experience, especially if you eat the cheese fries from Freddies.
Conclusion
Would the meets benefit you due to the bonding experience and yummy food? Yes, definitely. They help with hunger, frustration, and angriness. Meets are considered the test of readiness to see if you can do the course and to get comfortable with this type of course. Any questions about the meet(s) can be answered by the coach.
