Have you ever learned what you learn in world studies? Today I’m going to talk about 3 things I’ve learned in world studies.
Kansas History:
For the last couple of months, we have been learning about Kansas history. We started in ancient Kansas back before the 1600’s. There we learned about ancient towns and also the Ogallala Aquifer which is used to get water for a lot of crops. In the 1600’s to 1800’s, we learned about sedimentary tribes and nomadic tribes. Later we learned about how bad slavery used to be in Kansas before it became a free state. William Allen White in the 1900’s, helped slow down the KKK by writing editorials and also giving speeches against them. He is one of the main reasons that Kansas became a free state.
Writing:
In this class, I have learned a lot about writing articles and also just writing. I have gotten better at writing and also using AAAWWUBBIS. At the beginning of the year I struggled to write stories for people to read, but now I am a good enough writer that people will read my beat story if they have free time. I think it is really cool when you look at someone’s computer and you see that they are reading one of your stories.
Meeting New People:
Over the time that I’ve had this class, I have noticed that there isn’t a person in this class that is mean. They are all so friendly and I am very happy to have every single one of them in this class. They are all so supportive, when we finish writing a story everybody in the room claps showing that they care about your success.
Those are my three things that I have learned in world studies. I really appreciate everyone in this class for making me feel like I fit in. If you’d like to read more about world studies, you should hop on the sound and read more about it from people in my class, and see their perspective of this class.
