Have you ever wondered what the top 4 best wrestling matches of all time were? Well, I am going to be telling you and showing you in this beat story. These are some of the most exciting and thrilling matches I have ever watched.
And at number four we have Cary Kolat vs Mark Ironside. They wrestled at 134 lbs. Cary Kolat wrestled for Lock Haven and Mark Ironside wrestled at Iowa. The reason I chose this match is because it was upbeat and both of the people were undefeated so it would be a sad loss. There were also a ton of shots being shot (where one person shoots for the legs and tries to take them down) in the match, which makes it a competitive and aggressive wrestling match. At number 3 we have Bo Nikal vs Myles Martin. They wrestled at 184 lbs and Bo Nikal wrestled for Penn State, and Myles Martin wrestled for Ohio State. The reason I chose this match is because they had a match at 174 lbs and Myles Martin won but now they get to rematch at a different weight 184 lbs and Bo Nikal wanted his revenge. And both of the people were number 1 & 2 at the weight, so it was a good match. If you want to watch this match, click on this link.
And at number 2 we have Aaron Brooks vs Carter Starocci. They wrestled at 184 lbs and they both wrestled for Penn State. The reason I chose this match is because they both had 3 NCAA titles and to win this match means getting four. That means if one of them loses their career is over and they only get 3 NCAA titles while the other person gets 4 NCAA titles. Also, they were both on the same team while they were going against each other which would make it harder to lose and win. Also, there were only 5 people in history who got 4 NCAA titles in their career. If you want to watch this match, click on this link.
Finally, at number one we have Cael Sanderson vs Daniel Cormier. They wrestled at 184 lbs, and Cael Sanderson wrestled for Iowa, and Daniel Cormier wrestled for Oklahoma State. The reason I picked this match is because they were both undefeated and on a huge winning streak. Also, they were both very good and took a bunch of smart shots and had very good defenses. The ref made some bad calls to which the crowd booed the ref. Also, they were both from Iowa but from different schools which made it an exciting match. You could tell that both of these men were tired and it was barely in the 3rd period which means they were using all of their strength to win this match. One honorable mention goes to Dan Gable vs Larry Owings. The reason I chose this match at number 5 is because it was the biggest upset in the history of wrestling matches.
