Have you ever wondered what the greatest NBA team of all time is? There are many amazing all time NBA teams. Some of my honorable mentions would be The 1991-92 Bulls and the 1988-89 Pistons.
Number 5: The 1986-87 Los Angeles Lakers
In the regular season, they won 62 games and lost 20 games. They were the number 1 seed in the Western Conference. Their best 2 players were Magic Johnson who is arguably the greatest passer of all time, and Kareem Abdul Jabbar who is known as the best center in NBA history. This team would end up losing in the conference finals against the Houston Rockets.
Number 4: The 1985-86 Boston Celtics
In the regular season, they won 67 games and lost 15 games. They had the best record in both the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Their best player was Larry Bird who is known as one of the greatest NBA players ever. They made it to the NBA finals but they ended up losing to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Number 3: The 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers
In the regular season, they won 67 games and lost 15 games. They had the best record in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference. Their best 2 players were Kobe Bryant who is a top 4 player in NBA history and also Shaquille O’Neal who is the most dominant center of all time. They ended up winning the NBA finals against the Indiana Pacers. In that game, Shaq dominated and had 41 points and 13 rebounds.
Number 2: The 1996-97 Chicago Bulls
In the regular season, they won 72 games and lost 10 games which at the time was the best record in NBA history. They were easily the best team in the NBA. Their 3 best players were Michael Jordan, who is known as the greatest player of all time, Scottie Pippen who is known as one of the best defenders of all time, and also Dennis Rodman, who is a great defender and an elite rebounder. They ended up winning the NBA finals against the Utah Jazz who had John Stockton, who has the most assists of all time, and also Karl Malone, who is one of the best scorers of all time.
Number 1: The 2015-16 Warriors
In the regular season, they won 73 games and lost 9 games which is currently the best record in NBA history. They had the best team in the league by a mile. Their best 3 players were Steph Curry, who is the greatest 3-point shooter we have ever seen. They also had Klay Thompson who is also one of the greatest three-point shooters of all time. They also had Draymond Green who is one of the best defenders of all time and also a great passer. They made it to the NBA finals and went up 3 to 1 in the series, no one has ever come back from that in the finals. But the Cavaliers and Lebron James ended up coming back and defeating the Warriors in game seven by 4 points.
In conclusion, there are many NBA teams that could be called the greatest team ever, but the real greatest team is the 2016-17 Warriors because they have the greatest record we have ever seen.
