Did you know the most viewed CFP National Championship game was between Texas and USC in 2006 with an astounding 35.6 million viewers? The CFP National Championship game is something that every college football fan hopes to see their team in every year. This year the big game was played against The Michigan Wolverines and The Washington Huskies This game racked up 25 million viewers.

Leading up to this game, Washington looked like it could be the winner. Washington’s story started in their first game against Boise State which they ended up winning 59-19, and then they won every regular season game. The star player on this team was none other than Micheal Penix Jr. During the 2023-2024 season he passed for 4,903 yards with 36 passing TDs and ended up throwing 11 INTs. This team was just not Micheal the star receiver and the running back was Dillion Johnson who rushed for 1,195 yards and had 16 rushing TDs and Ja’lynn Polk had the most receiving yards with 1,159 yards and 9 TDs. This Washington team ended up out-scoring their opponents 490 to 307.
The Michigan Wolverines season also looked like the Huskies season with them going undefeated and their first-game score was against Minnesota the score was 52 to 10. The star player on this team was QB JJ McCarthy who passed for 2,991 yards with 22 TDs and 11 INTs. This team-leading receiver was Roman Wilson who had 789 yards and 12 TDs. The running back was Black Corum who had 1,245 rushing yards and 27 rushing TDs. This Michigan team out-scored their opponents 538 to 176.

The CFP National Championship game was played against The Michigan Wolerivens and The Washington Huskies. Washington tried their best in the first two quarters only trailing by 7 going into the half. Washington after the half could not keep up with Michigan. Michigan ended up winning the game 34 to 13. The star player of this game was Black Corum who had 134 rushing yards for 21 carries and 2 rushing TDs. Micheal Penix Jr was by far the better QB in this game and ended his season with 255 yards Went for 27-51 on his passes and had 1 TDs and 2 INTs. This game wasn’t all that interesting since Michigan beat The Huskies by 21 but it was a special one for Michigan fans after they ended up securing their 12th national championship.

The Huskies and Michigan Wolverines football both had amazing seasons last year both going undefeated until the postseason. Both of these teams had amazing talent on both sides of the ball but Michigan ended up running away with this one. It will be exciting to see what these two amazing teams are going to do next season.
