Some people have favorites like Jon Jones, Justin Gathje, and Daniel Cormier but today I’m showing you mine. UFC has been around for 20+ years with many fighters with many different accomplishments. They stretch from different promotions and outside of MMA too.
4. Demetrius Johnson
Demetrius Johnson was a Great Flyweight UFC fighter. He won the UFC flyweight championship and defended it 11 times on a 13-win streak in the flyweight division. There was a whole season of Ultimate Fighter with whoever won gets a title shot with Demetrius Johnson. He was also a part of the first MMA trade ever with UFC trading him to ONE Championship for Ben Askren. He is currently the flyweight champion at ONE Championship. I really like him because I feel like I can relate to his style more than anyone else.
3. Max Holloway
Max Holloway is a Featherweight and Lightweight fighter in the UFC. He has won the featherweight championship and the BMF title in UFC. Max Holloway is from Hawai Honolulu and is known as the best boxer in the UFC. He just beat Gathje for the BMF title and called out Ilia Topuria (Featherweight UFC Champion). I like Max because he has a great heart and doesn’t quit with a great mindset.
2. Kamaru Usman
Kamaru Usman is a Welterweight fighter in the UFC. He has won the Welterweight Championship and defended it 5 times before losing it. Kamaru Usman Won Ultimate Fighter, Season 21 in 2015. The Ultimate Fighter rewards whoever wins the tournament with a UFC contract. Kamaru Usman’s last fight was against Khamzat Chimave, where he lost by decision. I really like Usman because of his wrestling and determination.
1. Dustin Poirier
Dustin Poirier is a lightweight fighter in the UFC. He has won the interim lightweight championship. Dustin actually has his own hot sauce. Hot sauce is big in Lousiana and that’s where he is from. He has an upcoming fight at UFC 302 vs Islam Macachev for the UFC lightweight championship. I really like Dustin because of his story how he started as a nobody and then beat the best to be at the top and I’m thrilled he has a title shot.
There are so many different fighters in the UFC from the past and more in the future. UFC is only getting better over time with great cards, fighters, and even the venues. Soon you will see new fighters and champions maybe even new weights but always make sure to get ready every Saturday night to watch UFC.
