World Studies is a class that’s taught me a lot more than just Social Studies and ELA. This class has taught me things that I wouldn’t have learned in any normal other Social Studies or ELA class. Today I’m going to tell you three things that I learned in World Studies.
#1: Everything is a choice
From the beginning of the year, Mr. Hawley has always said that anything you do is a choice. You can choose to breathe, you can choose to walk, you can choose to burn your own house down, but they all have consequences.
#2: You will fail
Another thing Mr. Hawley has told us the whole year was that everybody is going to fail. I think everyone in World Studies can agree that that is definitely true, especially when beat stories came around. It shows that if you fail, there’s probably lots of others in the exact same position.
#3: Eat your apples slowly
Once we started our lit. circles, Mr. Hawley told us that we should read a little bit of pages every day, instead of reading a whole quarter of the book all at once. Mr. Hawley did the same thing with our beat stories, telling us to take little bites of the apple instead of swallowing the apple at the last minute.
Those were three things that I’ve learned in World Studies. If you’ve taken World Studies, I’m sure you can relate to these. All three of these have helped me with my work, even in other classes. Toodles (for the last time)
