You might be wondering “What is world studies? World studies is a combination of your social studies and ela. Your social studies would be the first block and with the exact same people you’d have ela 6th block(as of this year). But ELA is different, instead of doing boring old paper assignments you write stories that you’re actually interested in. You also learn things on the way. And these are 3 things I learned in World Studies.
The First thing I learned and am still working on is time management. This is very important because at the end of the year if you’re behind it’s almost impossible to catch up. This is a very important skill because I will need it a lot more in high school and College because they assign more and harder assignments.
The second thing I learned is the importance of working together. This became very important because without working with someone zero of my stories would be any good or would make much sense. This is because something might make sense to you but might not make sense to anyone else.
The final thing I learned in World Studies is all about Kansas. I learned about the Native Americans that used to live here and were forced to change their ways of life. We also learned about how a mix of a drought and over plowing can create massive dust storms.
If you didn’t know what world studies is now you do! Now you know that it’s not a normal ela class. In my opinion it is way more fun than normal ela class. So next time you hear about World Studies just know its a whole lot of fun.
