The first book in the Dork Diaries series was released on June 2, 2009.

About the story: The first book of the Dork Diaries series is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell. She moves to a new school called Westchester Country Day Middle School and meets a really cute boy named Brandon Roberts and a really mean girl named Mackenzie Hollister (If you want to know more you should read it). The genres of this book are: Romance, Comedy, Kid-friendly, and Realistic Fiction. My favorite book in the series is the 12th one called Tales From A Not-So-Secret Crush Catastrophe.

Opinions about the book: I started to read this book series because my sister told me about it and I started to really like it too. I think that this book series is for 9th graders to adults because it’s all about relationships. The words in the book are fairly big and the drawings are cute and show off Rachel Renée Russell’s skills with drawing.
