Purple, it’s the color for royalty, independence, and wisdom. Purple is also the world’s 3rd favorite color.  Purple is a special and rare color in nature as it’s mostly used by fungi and vibrant plants. Purple is the rarest color on flags too. Even if purple has this many achievements, does it mean that you should like it, and why is it so popular? 

Purple was the color of royalty because it was one of the most complicated colors to make. According to history.com , ”The original dye was prized because of supply and demand: It came from the mucous of an exceedingly rare sea snail shell.” In result, only prosperous kings and queens wore it. Purple is a dazzling and radiant color because it’s the color of the vast galaxy, harmonious lavender, and glistening amethyst.  

Purple is my personal favorite color because it’s a cool color, which can make you serene and peaceful. Purple is also a balanced color because it’s a mix of blue and red which can be considered complete opposites to each other. Purple can have its own meaning to you. For me, a dark purple can represent sorrow while a brighter purple can remind me  of peacefulness and happiness. 

But why do other 7th-grade students like purple? Grayson Legako likes the color purple himself and I will be interviewing him to find out why.

A: It’s a soothing color,  it reminds me of hibiscus flowers and it seems naturally fresh to me.

A:Purple reminds me of purple laffy candy which makes it mean sweetness to me.

Q: Why is purple special to you? 

A: Purple is a mysterious color and I like purple because it’s an imaginative color. It reminds me of dreams with mist.

In conclusion, purple is one of my favorite colors because it’s calming, it can represent some astonishing things, and it’s a balanced color to me. As purple is one of the most important colors in history, it’s one of my favorite colors. Thanks to Grayson Legako for letting me interview him too as he gave me another person’s thoughts about it.
