Imagine you are in front of 1,000 people, bright lights shining on you. You feel the warmth of the spotlight. The crowd goes silent, and as your heart races and every muscle stops working, your hands shake. You sit down and feel the pressure, everyone is watching you. Then you start playing minutes go by. You’re finished, everybody cheers, you grab your guitar and leave.
Guitar is something in my life that I have been doing for years.
When I first started, I learned on an electric guitar. Then my dad and I went up to Topeka, and we went to the guitar center and bought my first guitar. It is an acoustic guitar, and I love it. I kind of just fiddle around and learn new songs. I love playing guitar.
I also play piano, which I have been playing for way longer.
About 2 ½ years ago my grandpa came and visited me. I was sitting at the piano just pressing random keys and he said, “Want me to teach you something on that?”. I said yes and that’s when my love for piano was sparked. I now take lessons and I have never stopped playing.
A massive reason music is in my life as much as it is is my family. My entire family is very musically gifted. My grandpa and grandma play instruments, and my cousin is a singer (David Bazan). My Dad introduced me to guitar. He is the whole reason I play. Now when I go visit them I will play guitar or piano for them.
There you go. Now you know about my music life. Music has been in my family for a long time and it is special to me. This is my guitar Gretch Jim Dandy. I hope you can find something special for you too.
