The feeling that I had was like sitting by the fire and wrapping myself in a soft gray blanket and drinking a cup of Hot Chocolate. Have you ever felt so happy and suddenly started speaking gibberish? Well, that happened to me and when it did I felt…wait…do you think I’m going to spoil the whole story? Well, I’m not. So if you want to find out, you have to read my story.

It was the best thing that ever happened to me. One day, 3 or so years ago, I was on my way to a church camp with my friends in Augusta KS. We were playing games, talking, and laughing. When we got to the place of the camp, we unloaded the car, got to our cabin, and got settled in.

In the morning of our next day, my friends and I got ready for the day. But little did I know that this day was going to change me for the rest of my life. That evening we were talking about getting baptized in the holy spirit, and I decided to ask to be baptized because I had never been baptized before. I remember when I sat down my mom prayed for me because she was a counselor, but also because she’s my mom. I closed my eyes for a long time and I was bawling my eyes out. Then I felt something on my tongue but I felt like it was complete gibberish and that’s when my mom said,
“just spit it out even if it feels like complete nonsense.” So I did. And I felt so elated and tired, but when almost everyone was gone I felt like running around the sanctuary because I was so happy. So my mom said,
“You can run around here if you want to”(in other words a prayer lap).

I still use my prayer language to this day to pray for others. When people need to be prayed over, I’m there. I pray for anything you may be going through or will go through. I want you to know I’m praying for you always. Well, this has been fun and I want you to know that God loves you and he wants you to be saved too.

If you want to be baptized in the holy spirit, all you have to do is have a desire to be closer to Jesus, and pray for it.
