How would you feel if you had needles poked into you or you had dye put on you and you couldn’t do anything about it? Well, this is how most animals in America feel cause of animal testing. Animal testing should be banned in America because it leads to unnecessary animal deaths, there are different ways to test products without using animals or humans, and many countries have already banned using animal testing on products.
The first reason why animal testing should stop is because Animal testing leads to so many unnecessary animal deaths. According to Taking Suffering Out of Science, “It is estimated that more than 50 million dogs, cats, monkeys, rabbits, rats and other animals are forced to endure painful experiments in the U.S.” This means that animals are dying from painful experiments and that needs to stop.
The second reason animal testing should stop is that there are different ways to test products without using animals or humans. According to Alternatives to animal testing, “There are many ways to test safely without harming animals or humans.” As the article states, “we can use cell cultures, computer models.” This means that animals don’t need to be harmed as well as humans to benefit our experiments and science.
The final reason animal testing should stop is that 45 other countries have banned using animal testing. According to Ending Animal Testing for Cosmetics: Ten Years of Progress, “42 countries now have cosmetics animal testing bans in place” This means that many other countries have already seen the problems of animal testing and have banned animal testing. America needs to do the same.
Those are my reasons why animal testing needs to stop because many animals unnecessarily die, there are other ways to test products without using animals or humans, and 45 countries have already banned animal testing.
