Do you want to do more homework or less? Today I am going to talk to you about some reasons why I think we should not have any homework or at least very little. Have you ever thought about having more homework to get smarter? Some of the reasons are people with more homework perform worse, another is people see psychologists less with less homework last is people try to cheat more with more homework. I can’t wait to convince you of my opinion. 

The first reason that we should have less homework is When people have been given homework they perform lower on grade scores compared to other students who have not been given homework. According to this article, “he found that students who performed the weakest on a standardized math test were receiving more homework (typically from workbooks.) Those students whose teachers assigned them creative math activities that were embedded in real-world problems earned much higher test scores.” 

The next reason that we should have less homework is There have been studies that people are seeing psychologists less because they don’t have any more homework. According to this article “After two Utah schools banned homework in 2020, the number of kids sent to the school psychologist for anxiety went down by half.”  

The final reason,  people are stressed with homework, then they are more likely to use AI. According to this article, “69% said it’s acceptable to use it to research new topics, 39% said it’s acceptable to use AI to solve math problems, and 20% said it’s acceptable to use it to write essays.”

In conclusion, if we had less to no homework, our grades would go up. Also, it would help kids with anxiety and all-around happiness. Those are my reasons why we should have less homework. If you want things to change, you should contact the Emporia School Board to get this changed.
