Do you like school? Personally I don’t because it feels like I’m at school longer than I’m at home. If you don’t, then you’re on my side. Here are some reasons why we should have four–day school weeks instead of five. Click the links to learn more.
The first reason we should move to a four-day week is that it can enhance focus. According to Youngwonks, “Shorter school days can lead to increased focus during class. Students may find it easier to pay attention and engage in lessons without the mental fatigue associated with long school days.” This means that in turn less school can improve student’s overall academic performance.
The next reason we should move to a four-day week is to lower stress levels. According to Life School, “A shorter school week means fewer days of intense academics, allowing everyone to recharge over the long weekend.” This would mean that people have more time to take a break from things that can cause anxiety. That would then make them calmer.
The final reason we should move to a four-day week is more time for extracurricular activities. According to Explorerkids, “With one extra day off per week, students have more time to engage in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, or volunteering.” This means that you get more time to do the things you love.
We should only have four days of school instead of five. One reason is enhanced focus, another reason is lower stress levels, and the final reason is more time for extracurricular activities. If you agree with me then try contacting your local school board to change it. They do want to help everyone after all.
