Applebees, it’s one of the restaurants with the most meal deals I know of. Like the Late Night Half Price Appetizers, Meal for Two, and they’ll give you a free dessert on your birthday if you sign up for their membership. This review will tell you if I think Applebees is a good restaurant, the problems, and the best parts.
Firstly, the price of the food averages around $10-20 which is the average price for food. However, I think it’s reasonably priced because you get a high-quality meal, it comes with 2 sides, and you get to bring it home. $10-20 isn’t a great amount to spend every day on food, but it definitely is a good price to go out and celebrate. Furthermore, with the birthday offer, you can get a free dessert but only if you sign up for their membership. In all, Applebees is a moderately priced restaurant, not too expensive or cheap.
Secondly, the food is authentic and savory, always served hot. One of my personal highlights is the mashed potatoes. It melts in your mouth and leaves a light aftertaste. However, it’s just a side. What does the main dish taste like? The Bourbon Street Steak is one of my personal favorites as you get a delicate steak, sauteed mushrooms, and you get the classic mashed potatoes. Dipping the steak into the mashed potatoes makes a harmonious blend of flavors which I enjoy. One of the problems with the food is the hamburgers. Although starting as a rich dish, it turns bland halfway through. I don’t recommend the hamburger. However, I do recommend you to try their steaks and especially the mashed potatoes.
Lastly, there are a few things that I do want to talk about that don’t fit into any category. The restaurant itself is cold, I’ve been to Applebees a lot and it’s almost always cold there. It’s almost like a breeze of cold air. It takes around 20 minutes for you to get your food. It isn’t too long but with the cold it can be displeasing. Applebees still has its flaws but it does excel at the main parts of restaurants like taste with a friendly atmosphere.
Overall, Applebees is a great restaurant with tangy food and decent prices. But it, of course, has its own flaws. I think that Applebees is a great restaurant nonetheless and you should definitely try it someday whether it’s for a holiday or just to eat out. Luckily, there is an Applebees in Emporia, which means you can try it out for yourself, and see if you like it yourself.
