Have you ever wanted to know what Muslims do during a special Islamic month, Ramadan? Well, as a Muslim At EMS, I’ll tell you what me and my fellow Muslims do on this special month.
Before Ramadan starts, All Muslims around the WHOLE ENTIRE EARTH try to find the new crescent moon (because the crescent moon signifies that Ramadan has started) and once they find it, a Islamic Committee determines at what day Ramadan starts. On the days of Ramadan, we wake up at around 2 or 3AM for suhoor. We eat as much food as we can and fill our stomachs and stop when the sunrise prayer calls out. Then we pray the Sunrise prayer and start our days fasting. We keep fasting during the daylight hours without eating or drinking and when sunset arrives and the prayer call occurs, we break our fast in a special meal gathering called Iftar. We then eat all we can to fill our empty and hungry stomachs from the recent hours of not eating or drinking and then we pray our sunset prayer and go to sleep and keep doing that on repeat until the new crescent moon arrives, marking the 30th and final day of Ramadan.
