Pets have been part of our lives for a very long time. Since the dawn of time, people have been living alongside these animals and even have befriended them. I love animals and pets and was curious about the most popular pets in the world (according to Ingleside) so here they are.
#1: Dogs
Dogs are one of the biggest favorite animals in the world. They love to interact with their owners by fetching, running around, and sleeping with their owners. It has been a pet to man for over 30,000 years (got this information on Wikipedia)! Some of the favorite breeds of dogs are the French bulldog, the German Shepherd, the Rottweiler, and the Labrador.
#2: Guinea pigs
Guinea pigs are a favorite of a lot of kids and adults. They love to interact with the toys you give them but can also be very skittish. They have been domesticated for about 5,000 years and are still very popular. Some favorite breeds of this animal are the Peruvian guinea pig, the American guinea pig, the coronet guinea pig, and the teddy guinea pig.

Cats have been a popular animal for a very long time. They love to interact with toys, such as feathers on a stick, they love to play and cuddle with you, and they also love to knock things off of tabletops and counters. Cats have been domesticated for over 10,000 years. Some of the
best breeds of this animal are the ragdoll, the British short-hair, the American short-hair, and the Maine coon.

Parakeets are amazing and really cute. They interact with you by chirping, and they also like to climb their cage to get energy out. Parakeets have been pets for 223 years. Some of the best breeds of parakeets are the budgerigar, the green parakeet, the Conure, and the cockatiel.

Snakes are exceptional reptiles. They love to climb things and they love to slither around and sleep. Snakes have been domesticated for only 54 years but are still pretty popular . Some of the best breeds of snakes are the ball python, the gopher snake, the western hog-nosed snake, and the corn snake.
