Have you ever wondered just how beautiful a state is? Well I’ve lived in a state that has: Rolling hills, Pure water, and best of all we make a lot of wheat!!! Can you guess what it is, it’s Kansas!!! Today I am going to be talking about the big, the beautiful, and a little bit crazy Kansas.
Fun Facts: Kansas is known as the sunflower state because of how many Sunflowers we have, The state bird is known as the Western Meadowlark because they are most common in Kansas.
Landscapes: Kansas is known to have rolling hills and the Tall Grass Prairie. According to nps.gov, “Tallgrass prairie once covered 170 million acres of North America, but within a generation most of it had been transformed into farms, cities, and towns. Today less than 4% remains intact, mostly in the Kansas Flint Hills.”
Uniqueness: The way that makes Kansas unique is that: Kansas makes most of the USA’s wheat, also according to awesomeamerica.com, “Kansas was the first state to ratify the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which gave African-American men the right to vote.” Also something that is crazy about Kansas is that according to statesummaries, “Temperatures in Kansas have risen about 1.5°F since the beginning of the 20th century” and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Kansas has very crazy weather and sometimes it drives me crazy.
