Have you ever been to Camp Alexander? If you haven’t, it is a local summer camp, and is a perfect example of a bike trail. In this story, I will show you some trails that you should go to and some good and bad things about the trails.
- The Coyote trails
The Coyote trail is right off West 30th Avenue. The course has fun routes and is about 3 miles a lap of up, down and zig zag course built in with jumps and curvy turns. It is very fun. The down part about the trail is that after it rains we can not go on it for a long time since it is mushy and it is covered by trees mostly and the trails don’t get much sunshine, so it can get a little muddy after rain.
- Camp Alexander trails
The Camp Alexander trails are a local camp that hosts summer weekly camps. They have a lot of nature and lots of bike trails. The worst part about the trail is all of the tree roots making it hard to have control.
- Wilson Lake
Wilson Lake is by the ESU campus. They have gravel trails and the trails go up hills that are very hard to get up. But that is the only downside to the Wilson Lake trails. Wilson Lake has lots of down hills and up hills, so it is perfect for you to practice shifting or the correct position.
I think you should try riding these trails if you’re interested, because they improve health and are really fun to ride on. Something that is also good is all of them are local trails around the Emporia area. So they are easily accessible for everyone, and if you ride these trails, it could attract more people and teams to improve the Emporia environment and area.
