A bunch of people love pets and a lot of them have cats because they are great animals! I have a cat as well and she is probably the best pet I could have asked for. Yet, I love my cat and I think that other people might like her as well so I want to share all the fun things about my cat.
My Cat’s Personality:
My cat, Lilac, has a very interesting personality (at least to me). She loves lying around doing nothing and she loves to eat. One thing about her though is that she only wants to eat when I am around her. So she always has something to eat throughout the day because she saves it for when I am out there spending time with her. She loves to play with grass but not her cat toy. And if you sit down, with your legs criss-crossed, and stay there for a bit she will climb into your lap to get comfortable and then lay there purring. She is also very protective of “her territory”, and if a raccoon or another cat comes to our house, she will fight it and she often gets injured. For this reason, we always lock her up in our garage until morning when we let her out and feed her.
My Cat’s Markings:
Lilac is a light grey she-cat with some white on her belly. She has slightly lighter grey tabby markings, and if you look closely at her fur, they are visible. She has beautiful yellow-green eyes and two white markings above her eyes. She has a black nose and white claws ( that love to play with my hair). Her fur is very soft. It isn’t really long but it isn’t really short, it is more of a medium and when she was really young (before she was an outdoor cat), her fur had the texture and softness of velvet. Her fur is still soft today, just not the same. She is an adorable little lioness and she loves to prowl around our property looking for prey.
Story of How I Got My Cat:
When I was around 8 or 9 years old I kept asking my mom for a pet cat. She kept saying that they were too expensive and that they took a lot of work. About a month later though, I finally got my chance. My friend’s cat had just recently kitted and she told me that we could have one of them for free! 2 weeks later we went over to their house to check the kittens out. When we arrived, I saw the kittens and my heart melted at the sight of them, they were so small, not much fur on them, and they were also mewling! I immediately saw the one I wanted and to mark it as the one I wanted I put a small pink ribbon around its neck. I still didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl but I did not care at the moment. I had to wait seven weeks until I could finally take the kitten home and it was so annoying because I wanted the kitten right then, but I pushed through. When I finally got to take my kitten home, I was so excited and as I held her while we were on our way home from picking it up it kept purring even though it was scared. When we got home we found out that the kitten was a girl and that was when I started trying to come up with a name for her. I decided that I might find more inspiration outside so I ran out of the house to our backyard. I then started to walk along our creek when I saw beautiful small light purple flowers. The flowers were almost the color of a lavender or a lilac. That is when it hit me, my cat should be named lilac! I ran back inside to Lilac’s crate where she was kept in so she could learn to use the litter box. When she saw me through the mesh in her gate she kept meowing so she could be let out because she wanted to be near me. She was too cute, so I slightly zipped a small hole open and put my finger inside to scratch at her ear for a bit, suddenly she started pushing her head against the hole and started making the zipper zip open until she squeezed out of her crate and then she crawled into my lap and started kneading my leg and purring. It was super cute! Later she learned to use the litter box and was allowed out into my room and I was so happy to have a cat.
I hope that you know a little bit more about my cat and how amazing she is. I love her so very much and I hope that I will be able to make a lot more memories with her before she is gone. Another reason I love her, is because she is also my first cat and I don’t regret one bit of adopting her. If you are interested in getting a cat of your own, you could go to Petsense and adopt a cat.
