Have you ever wondered what are the thoughts behind a cheerleader? If you have wondered that, then you’re in luck. In this story I will tell you about Maddy’s favorite and least favorite parts from cheer.
Q: How long have you been cheering and why did you start?
A: I have done it for a year now and at first I really just wanted to do it to try to see if I would like it.
Q: How long do you think you will continue cheering and why?
A: I will probably do it in high school because it is really fun and I get to make a lot of memories and friends.
Q: What was your motivation to continue cheering?
A: Everyone always supports you in cheer, so it really helps me to keep going and it’s just really fun to do.
Q: What was the worst part of cheer practices?
A: I would probably say the Sallys (a cheer exercise where you have to lay down and keep your feet off the ground for 3 minutes while moving them up and down) because I would always be sore after practice.
Q: What was the best part of cheer practice?
A: My favorite part of cheer practice was being able to learn new stunts and seeing my friends everyday.
Q: Which cheer is your favorite and why?
A: My favorite cheer to do would probably be the fight song because it’s really fun to do and it’s longer than our other cheers.
Q: Which cheer is your least favorite and why?
A: My least favorite cheer is probably dynamite because it’s really repetitive and I just don’t really like the chant as much as others.
Q: What is your favorite part of cheering at assemblies?
A: My favorite part cheering at assemblies would be showing everyone the cheers we have learned over the year and being able to just cheer in front of the whole school is fun.
Q: What is your least favorite part of cheering at assemblies?
A: My least favorite part of cheering at assemblies would be that if you mess up everyone would know.
Q: Which cheer was the hardest for you to learn and why?
A: The hardest cheer to learn was probably the fight song because it went really fast and it was longer than our other cheers.
Q: Do you like wearing your uniform to school and why?
A: I like wearing my uniform to school because it shows school spirit and also everyone will know that I am a cheerleader.
Q:When you are stunting, what are you thinking?
A: At first I think, oh man I hope I don’t fall and hurt myself, and then, I just think I can do this.
Q:What is one thing you don’t like about cheering at games and why?
A: One thing I don’t like about cheering at games is that when I’m doing some cheers I mess up on them and everyone is looking at me when I mess up.
Q: What is the best thing about cheering at games and why?
A: The best part about cheering at games is probably stunting, doing cradles, and showing support to the people playing.
Q: If you could cheer at any sport, which sport would you pick and why?
A: I would probably pick football because I enjoy watching football in general, but also whenever I think of a cheerleader, I think of cheering at football games.
