Friday, March 21-22 at a church in Topeka, KS, church groups (from the eastern part of Kansas) came together to learn about Jesus, because it will help them to share Jesus with people.
When all of the churches got to the Church in Topeka they all listened to important information from the speakers. After they were done, most of them stayed to play games like: Nine Square, Pool, Basketball, etc., but it was already around midnight! A few churches rented a place to stay like a Venue. The next morning the church groups went into 3 sessions with other people to learn more about living a Christian life. Then, after lunch, they all came to hear one last bit of information from their speaker.
Some people I know went, and I’m going to ask them a few questions.
Me: What was your favorite part of Spring Breakaway?
Piper: My favorite part was playing hide-and-seek in the dark
Emily: I loved getting to hang out with you and Piper
Me: What was your least favorite part of Spring Breakaway?
Piper: My least favorite part was when we had to leave
Emily: I hated sleeping in the chair
Me: What were some takeaways from going to Spring Breakaway?
Piper: My top takeaways were that the Angel of the Lord is Jesus and that God is always moving, even if I can’t see him!
Emily: I felt like God told me to make room for him
As the church groups were at the Event, some of the church groups were in sessions. Some of the sessions were about slowing down, trusting God, etc. but, they all will help the kids. The 1st session was about a story of this person named Elijah and how he had won a fight. But, the speaker, Josh Peoples, talked about what was said and what wasn’t. His moral was to be silent and listen to God. The 2nd session was led by Hanna Peoples, one of the other speakers, and she talked about how you should slow down and listen to God and what he’s saying. The 3rd session was led by the lead speaker, Taylor, and he talked about the characteristics of God.
I personally really enjoyed getting to learn more about God and hearing from him. One thing I didn’t like was sleeping on a couch at the place my church group was staying. I think that what they told the groups was very impactful and I want to share it with other people. If you’d like to come to church camp, a website you could go to is: life church emporia.
