Have you ever been to a camp or big event and it’s changed your life or something awesome happened? Well, I have. And the place that I had that life changing event was at Church Camp. You will learn what I liked about it, when the next one is, and other information.
At the church camp I went to was in Augusta KS and we go usually in June, I went because I really like going to church camp. There were a lot of fun things in the schedule and fun things to do in general. One of the things we did was go swimming in the lake, kayaking in the lake, sliding into the lake, and getting blobbed (It is basically a big air bubble mattress thing on the water, and you sit on one side then people jump onto it while you’re on it). I didn’t do the Blob because something happened one year and it’s scared me ever since. You can get snacks or bring snacks to share or just eat. The food is really good, in my opinion. You get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some of the things you can do for recreational activities are: 9 square (big metal squares that you throw the ball through), gaga ball (a giant ring where people bowl the ball towards people while you try to dodge the ball), a hunt for items, or indoor activities.
This camp changed my life because of the most important part of the camp: Chapel. It was my third year going to the camp, I think, and my mom was the counselor. It was also the year I got my prayer language. Getting your prayer language is a big deal because it means that the Holy Spirit has filled you. If you get filled you also get gifts that will help other Christians. Now, I already made a story that goes into more detail about my baptism so, here is the link: Holy Spirit Baptism.
I really like going to camp because I hope to have more encounters with Jesus. You don’t need to go to camp to have that, but I really like to go because of all the fun I’ve had so far. Camp is a place where it doesn’t matter where you were, because God loves you each and every way. He knows you inside and out. He even knew you before you were even born. Which is why I love God; because he’s always there for me when I need him.
So now you know why I really, REALLY love to go to camp. You get to have an amazing time because you can find God and his love for you. I always love to hear these words: “God doesn’t care about who you were in your past”, I’m pretty sure I heard them at camp too. If, you’d like to go to camp then a website you could go to is: agkansas.com. If you click on events and go to all events, then you can go to June and the camp weeks will be there.
