“Education is our passport to the future” by Malcolm X. Have you ever wondered what goes on in a middle schooler’s head? If so, today I am going to be interviewing a student here at EMS. The person I am going to interview is Carlee Van Sickle.
Family
Q: What is your favorite family vacation you have gone on?
A: That’s a hard question. I would say the trip we took to Georgia or the one we did this year.
Q: That’s nice. Do you have any pets?
A: I have a lot of pets, (both of us laughing a lot) I live on a farm so I have probably more than 15 now.
Q: Who is your hero?
A: Probably my parents, they just make me feel really safe.
Q: Yeah, I Understand that. What is it like having a mom who works at the school?
A: It’s nice but also kinda scary in some ways. She figures out stuff really fast because she works in the school. (lots of laughter)
sports
Q: What’s your favorite sport and why?
A: Oh no (more laughter) Well, I am playing volleyball right now and that’s pretty fun. And I really like basketball too.
Q: Also, what is your favorite sport to watch?
A: I like watching baseball. I don’t know why though. It’s just really fun to watch.
Q: Do you like any sports and why?
A: I like a lot of sports, I really want to manage wrestling and I want to do track.
other
Q: What are your goals for this year?
A: Probably to stay out of trouble. I am really scared of getting in trouble.
Q: I understand that it is so true. What do you want to be when you grow up?
A: I am really interested in animals and stuff, especially horses, so I was thinking of becoming a horse trainer.
Q: That’s nice! What do you like best about yourself?
A:I feel like it is the best thing about me is that I am athletic.
Q: Yeah, do you like school? Why or why not?
A: I don’t like school that much, the only reason I really get motivated to go to school is all my friends.
Q: I agree with you that’s so true. What do you like to do for fun?
A: I feel like this one is obvious, probably hanging out with my animals. (lots of laughter)
This was a very good interview. I would like to thank Carlee. Carlee did amazing. There was a lot of laughter. If you see Carlee in the hall, say hi, because she’s a good person and she will probably say hi back.
