Don’t Call A Person Out By Their Differences, Respect The Fact That Everyone is Different
March 13, 2018
Have you ever thought of a place, where everybody is treated the same? How about a place where people got along, and nobody is separated? What about a place where people aren’t outcasts because of where they are from, the language they speak, how much money they have, or the clothes that they wear. Lots of people are also always being discriminated for the religion they believe in too. Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone got along and people aren’t separated because of their appearance, beliefs, or personality?
Humans are closer in relationship than you might think. Here is something to think about, everyone had to come from someone, right? Think about it, as you look at the family tree, you see that the bottom of the tree is really broad, and full of millions of people. As you look at the top, you see that the family tree grows thinner as you look towards the top, and less people are on it. If your family tree would have every person in the world, everyone would be related to the very first man and woman on earth. So, I guess what you could say is that the whole world is one big family.
If the whole world is like one giant family, think about it like this. Would a family just break apart and treat each other differently just because of their personality or appearance? A family wouldn’t just separate itself from each other but instead would be treating others like part of a family. So, why do we have to separate ourselves just because people have differences. What is the first thing you think of when you see a person with special needs walking in the store, is it judging them for their differences, or is it liking the fact that they are different.
People with special needs aren’t just different, their differences is what makes them a unique person. The next time you see a person with special needs, instead of judging them for their differences, accept that they are different and see that the differences of that person, is what makes up the personality of that person. This personality and these differences is what makes this type of person interesting and unique.
What do you think when you see a homeless person on the street or a person/family that is in poverty? Do you see them as outcasts just because they don’t have a place to live or because they wear the same outfit everyday? If you had no home, and no money, you would have no way to clean yourself or afford new clothes. Then you would be that person that people see as an outcast because you are poor, homeless and have bad personal hygiene. Whenever you see a person like this, don’t judge them, but put yourself in that person’s shoes. Think about it like you are that person who is seen as an outcast because of your currency, personality, and appearance. How would you feel?
You need to respect that everyone comes from different places around the world and that makes appearances, languages, and personalities different. Learn to accept that skin colors may vary but that does not change the person. On the inside, we are all the same. Listen to this song “We All Bleed The Same” by Mandisa and you will find a lot of good lines that prove that we are the same. So, instead of being judgmental about different appearances and personalities, respect and compliment people because of their differences.
Also, make sure that you are not discriminating against a person because they believe in a different religion than you. There is no one religion that the whole world has to follow. We all believe different things and have our own opinions. We all think that the religion that we believe is the right religion. How would you feel if someone came up and discriminated against you because you have different beliefs?
What makes us humans is the fact that we are all different. If we were all exactly the same, the world would be boring. You can’t have a rainbow with just one color. The fact that the colors are different is what makes it unique. The fact that we are different is what makes up each individual person in the world. Today, take the time to compliment someone because they are different. Also, do not be ashamed of your differences. Without being different, we would be doing the same thing and the world would be like a rainbow with one color. So stand up and let the world know that having differences, is okay.
